What part of the research did you enjoy the most and why?
This was the first time that I visited Shoreditch including travel in the past, so I was surprised that it was completely different from west London. Visiting Shoreditch felt as if visiting a modern museum, because there was miscellaneous street art to see. In fact, I saw someone drawing on the wall with spray for the first time in my life. Even though I love seeing art such as Baroque and Rococo, seeing street art made me feel more fresh and diverse.
What do you think is the benefit of experiencing something in person?
On this trip, I found out that visiting museums is not the only way to explore art. I assume that every country has different atmospheres between each city, and I loved to see how different it is. It is because I like to discover cultural influence in every detail, so experiencing it in person made it possible to learn about different areas of London and how different it is even in the same city.
What might need further development as a result of today’s trip?
I would like to compare vintage shops between Shoreditch and west London. In East London, there were various vintage shops such as brand vintage shops and charity shops.
On the other hand, I rarely see vintage shops in west London, I often see boutique and shopping centres. Also I wanted to see more window displays carefully and compare with each store.
